Ghanaian side Right to Dream Academy lift the Gothia Cup on Saturday

The Ghanaian side clinched their second successive Gothia Cup U17 title on Saturday when defeating Swedish side Kalmar FF 2-1 in the final.

The Gothia Cup blog started off on Sunday July 12 with a chat with Collins Tanor, the Right to Dream number 10 (read it here).

Why not end the tournament same way?

But first the blog went on a bus ride with the captain and his winning team:

As the defending champions got off the bus the coach Frazer Roberts gathered them and the music was turned off.

"We have achieved what we wanted to do here at Gothia Cup. The expectations were high and that’s not always easy to handle. But you showed character throughout the tournament," Roberts said.

"And today, guys, you showed that you never give up. You deserved this.

"Now go and have some fun tonight, but don’t forget to be humble and show respect. Nobody here is a superstar.

Collins Tanor said he never lost faith in his team during the final even if Kalmar FF took the lead.

Goals by Frank Arhin and Isaac Atanga turned the match around and Right to Dream could start the celebration. "It was a tough game. We struggled at first but we came back and kept on going. Well done to all the boys! "He played every minute of the six games. But he still has some energy left for this evening’s party. "The Ghana community here in Gothenburg has arranged something for us. I think that we are going to have a lot of fun."
