Richard Kingson inspired me - Ghana goalie Fatau Dauda

Ghana's safest pair of hands Fatau Dauda says he was inspired by the words of his predecessor Richard Kingson.

Dauda met the former Ghana number one Kingson in camp during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations finals on home soil where he was an unused substitute.

The AshantiGold ace was selected as first choice goalkeeper at the 2013 Nations Cup ahead of Norway-based Adam Larsen Kwarasey who was between the sticks in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Dauda was one of the best goalkeepers of the tournament which ended last Sunday and he gives credit to the experienced Kingson.

"He told me my time will come one day and that I should learn hard and for me that inspired me a lot," Dauda told Asempa FM.

"He also advised me to be patient and for me I always that inspired me a lot."

In Ghana's quarterfinal clash against Cape Verde, Dauda was named Man-of-the-Match for his stupendous saves.

Dauda is expected to help AshantiGold mount a challenge for the Ghana Premier League title.
