Highly-respected entrepreneur Dr Kofi Amoah could be named as the new Chief Executive of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

The renowned business mogul is being courted to bring his expertise brought to bear on the club as they attempt to craft a new brand for the club.

The Porcupine Warriors are in need of an accomplished business personality to steer the affairs of the club and they see that in the revered Dr Amoah.

The Kumasi-based side have contacted the former Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of CAN 2008 in Ghana, to take over the advertised role.

Kotoko are in dire need of corporate image redemption with suggestions the current management have failed to match up to the multiple sponsorships acquired by former chief Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong.

Dr Amoah, who owns the famous ‘Citizen Kofi’, a popular entertainment centre in Accra, is believed to be an avid supporter of the two-time African champions.

He is the accredited African partner in the US-based Western Union Money transfer business.

Dr Amoah has served as Non-Executive Director of State Insurance Company of Ghana Ltd since May 29, 2008.

He worked in the United States at Northrop, Electronic Data System (EDS), Southeast Investment Corporation Development, Elsafe Incorporated, Global One and Bear, Stearns Inc.

He is the founder and president of J.S. Investments Inc., Los Angeles, PPVI Ghana Ltd, and Progeny Aluminum and Design Ghana Ltd.

He was a member of Ghana Investment Advisory Council, past member of the Ghana Football Association and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee during the Ghana 2008 tournament.
