Rennes look for John Mensah replacement, ex-Ghana captain future in doubt
John Mensah is likely to be clubless in the coming weeks

John Mensah could be back searching for a new club after Stade Rennes took steps to look for his replacement, French newspaper L’Equipe has reported.

Manager of the French Philipe Montanier is preparing a bid to sign Real Betis strong centre-back Damien Perguis.

The arrival of the former Troyes and St Etienne defender will pave the way for the Ghanaian international to exit the club.

Mensah, 30, joined the Red and Blacks in January in a move to revive his injury-blighted career.

The injury-prone defender failed to command a regular spot in the team and could be back hunting for a new club in the coming weeks.

The ex-Ghana skipper has not been included in the squad for this season.
