Referee Patrick Kyeremateng, middle with GFA President is set to return to active refereeing
Ghanaian referee Patrick Kyeremateng is set to return to active officiating after passing the local cooper test last week.
The Kumasi-based referee’s career was put on hold when he was attacked and brutally assaulted by Ebusua Dwarfs fans during a Ghanaian Premier League game between the ‘Mysterious club’ and Aduana Stars last season.
However after spending eleven months on the sidelines, Kyeremateng joined his colleagues for the referee’s cooper test and successfully went through the exercise.
“I went through the exercise and I passed so I’m ready to return to the pitch,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.
He could be picked by the Referee’s Appointment Committee to handle Glo Premier League games when the Ghanaian top flight league resumes on February 24.
