Ghanaian midfilder Mercy Darkoah has been named NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the NAIA on Tuesday.

Darkoah has helped lead Bellevue to a 13-1-0 overall record (5-0-0 MCAC) as the Bruins are ranked No. 23 in the latest Coaches' Poll.

Darkoah had a terrific week for Bellevue scoring four goals and three assists for 11 total points as the then-No. 23 Bruins claimed at least a share of the MCAC Regular Season title.

In a 10-1 victory at York on Wednesday Darkoah directed the Bruin attack to near perfection, setting up three goals and scoring one herself.

In a Saturday win at Central Baptist she scored her conference-best third hat trick of the season as BU bested CBC 4-1. She has now totaled 10 goals in her last five matches and ranks ninth in the nation with 18 goals for the year.

In winning NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week honors Darkoah becomes the first Bellevue women's soccer player to earn national weekly accolades since former Bruin Caitlin Stier was named NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 13, 2011.

The Bruins wrap up the regular season on Wednesday with a match-up against MCAC foe Waldorf College at Tranquility Park in Omaha.
