Recall my in-form friends; Muntari and Essien - Ex Ghana captain Stephen Appiah
Sulley Muntari must apologize before being considered for Ghana selection

Ex Ghana captain Stephen Appiah says ‘his friends’ Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien ought to be returned to the Black Stars due to their improved performance at AC Milan.

Muntari is currently serving an indefinite suspension from the Ghana national team for assaulting a Ghana FA official during the 2014 World Cup.

The 30-year-old is required to make an official apology before he is considered for international selection.

Essien on the other hand is not facing any real disciplinary action with the GFA after refusing to warm up in Ghana’s final World Cup game against Portugal.

But the former Chelsea star has since not been called up to the Black Stars.

Former captain of the side, Stephen Appiah wants handlers of the Black Stars to recall the inform duo ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

“They are my friends and not that because they are my friends I want them back in the team,” Appiah said.

“But then they are playing at AC Milan and they are doing well.

“So I think we need them back in the team.”

Ghana is drawn in a tough group at the 2015 AFCON alongside Senegal, Algeria and South Africa.

New coach Avram Grant is currently visiting and speaking to some of the Ghanaian players abroad – including duo; Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien.
