Real Tamale United threaten rogue referees with curses

Real Tamale United say they will invoke curses from deities on referees who unfairly officiate against them in the Ghana Premier League.

The Tamale-based side re-joined the Ghana top-flight this season after spending just one season in the second-tier league.

Clubs who are dissatisfied with the performance of a referee can drag him to the Ghana FA’s match review panel for punishment.

But RTU want to adopt an orthodox system to seek justice when they feel cheated by referees.

“The issue is, we are all aware with what amounts to fair,” RTU chairman Nurudeen Abu said .

“If you take a look at Kpando that is when he played at Heart of Lions, you could see clearly that the referee was just out to do something else other than fair officiating.

“The referee gave us (RTU) a red card and awarded a penalty of which the whole Ghana and the world is aware that it was not a penalty.

“But just because Heart of Lions were playing home, the man managed to give them a win.

“That is why we say for now, we will not make any referee make any official complaint.

“What we know is that if it goes worse and we realize that we can’t control it, then we are going to invoke our gods on them.”

RTU are 13th on the league table and host Medeama on Sunday.
