Accra-based Real Estate developer Mark Washington Markuviah has been angered by persistent denials by Ghana striker Prince Tagoe that he doesn’t owe him US$ 115,000.

Mr. Markuviah is in court demanding the payment of the amount plus interest as the balance for a house he bought from him in 2010 for US$ 270,000.

He secured a writ of summons filed at the Accra High Court demanding specific performance last month.

Tagoe is quoted as saying on a comedy show on UTV: “Mr Washington is my good friend who is real estate developer in East Legon, By God’s Grace, I was able to buy four houses from him when I came into contact with him and I paid for all.

“I gave him US$ 155,000 as part payment for the house but he has now published stories about me owing him on the Internet.

“If I have been to buy four houses from you Mr. Washington and I say I don’t have enough money to buy the fifth one and moreover he has demolished part and built a six-bedroom house for his own benefit and I am demanding my money back from you, what is my crime?”

Mr. Markuviah, who has been in the real estate business for the past 20 years, claims he has been a mentor to the former TSG Hoffenheim player and provided evidence of monies the player has been borrowing from him.
