Rawlings Should Be Grateful To Kufuor's Government

Posted On Wednesday, 16th May 2012

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it is not perturbed by former President Rawlings?s veiled reference to the party as an enemy when he delivered his address to mark the 30th anniversary of the 31st December Women?s Movement in Accra on Tuesday.

Mr. Rawlings said the NPP and its members were intolerable enemies adding that they will be considered as an opposition if they behave in a civil manner.

But, the National Organizer of the NPP, Moctar Bamba in an interview with XYZ News said rather than condemn the NPP as an enemy, Mr Rawlings should be grateful to the Kufuor administration which gave him fair treatment between 2001 and 2008.

?That is what he thinks, but for us we didn?t do any bad thing against him or his party, it is his own people who are going against him, the people who he calls traitors? Mr. Bamba said.

He added that ?during our reign we dealt with him very well and we did all that he wanted for him, but now look at his own party, the person who he brought to become the President [Mills] look at how Rawlings is now”.
