Defender Rashid Sumaila was delighted to score his first Asante Kotoko goal in their win over Tema Youth.

The former Ebusua Dwarfs strong centre-back headed from a corner-kick to give the Porcupine Warriors a precious 2-1 win at the Tema sports stadium.

Kotoko took an early lead through Benjamin Acheampong before Francis Narh pulled level in the second half through the spot kick.

Just as the game was heading for a draw, the Black Stars defender soared high to nod home the match winner at the death.

“I am very happy that we managed to win at this difficult place and more special to me because my goal gave us the maximum points," Sumaila said

“We’ll hope to continue from here and never look back again.”

Kotoko will next host New Edubiase at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.
