Randy Abbey has completed his takeover of Ghana Premier League side Heart of Lions and has quit as the chairman of the Referees Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
His decision to stand down as the chairman of the referees' committee stems from the fact that no club administrator is supposed to hold a post on the judicial body, Asempa FM has reported.
The ambitious football administrator has acquired 70% of the shares of the Kpando-based club paving way for massive financial capital injection for the club through his partners.
The highly-respected Ghana FA Executive member has since resigned as the chairman of the Referee appointment committee à to avoid a conflict of interest situation.
Former owner Victor Ahiakpor becomes a founder and board member with Abbey expected to transform the side into a world-class team.
Abbey would be required to create a lasting dynasty at Kpando if the deal is officially announced.
Lions impressed during the first half of the season where they ended in the top-four.
