Sought after Quincy Owusu-Abeyie wants to remain with Crystal Palace

Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie wants to stay with Crystal Palace in order to prove a point in the English Premiership according to his agent.

The 27-year-old looks likely to earn a permanent deal haven excelled in his ongoing trials at Selhurst Park.

Quincy was a former Premier League campaigner while with Arsenal.

Limited first team opportunities under manager Arsene Wenger however denied him the opportunity to prove he can be successful in the English top flight.

The Ghana international who has played in several countries including Russia, Spain, Qatar and Greece appears to be on his way back to the Premiership with newly promoted Crystal Palace.

His agent Leon Callander now says the player wants to stay in England despite receiving offers elsewhere primarily to prove ‘a point’.

"The more Quincy plays for Ian Holloway the more he is going to do,” Callander said.

"He's not even at his optimum. Judging from what I saw atPanathinaikos, in another two games he will start to set it alight.

"There is a lot of interest from Turkey and other clubs in Greece but he wants to be here. He feels he has got a point to prove."
