King Faisal assistant coach Prince Acheampong has expressed his gratitude to club president Alhaji Karim Grusah for elevating him as interim head coach.

The club have their substantive trainer Dorian Marin handed a seven-match touchline ban which has ended his season.

Marin, a Romanian, was banned for misconduct during a Premier League match between Hearts and King Faisal.

Acheampong began his job on the bench with a promising 0-0 draw at Medeama.

He faces a difficult task of steering the club to safety as they currently lie in 12th place and three points above the relegation mark.

“I would thank Alhaji Grusah. For this opportunity he has given to me. I thank him for having confidence in me,” he said in a post-match interview

“I use to help the team a lot most especially behind the scenes.

“I now thank him for given me this big opportunity.”
