Scottish giants Hearts of Midlothian have handed a three-year-contract proposal to Ghanaian international midfielder Prince Abankwa Buaben, according to GHANAsoccernet.com sources.

The Tynecastle outfit want to reward the former Ajax Amsterdam youth team player, 26, for his outstanding contribution to their promotion campaign this season.

Buaban initially joined the Jambos as a free agent after leaving Partick Thistle last season.

In the Championship, where Hearts are playing to restore their status to the Premiership, the midfielder has netted four times from 12 games since the start of the season to impress his employers.

Buaben has expressed his willingness to remain at the club and he is expected to ink the deal in the coming weeks.

Hearts are likely to return to the Scottish elite division after leading the Championship table since the start of the season.
