Pressure mounts on Hearts coach CK Akunnor

Posted On Sunday, 28th October 2012

CK Akunnor is under intense presure at Hearts of Oak

The pressure is mounting on Hearts coach CK Akunnor following a dismal run of three defeats in five league games.

The capital-based side suffered a 2-0 defeat at Berekum Chelsea, coming just days after their miserable collapse at home to All Stars.

The poor run leaves four points outside the top four and nine  adrift of leaders Medeama, which is simply not god enough for a club eager to return to the summit of Ghana football.

The former Ghana captain will come under massive pressure from the supporters as their dream of reclaiming the crown from rivals Kotoko continues to fade.

It will be no surprise to see the name of Akunnor heading the sack race to be the first Premier League coaching casualty of the season after the dreadful start to the season his Hearts side has made.

I don’t believe its CK’s fault, but if he has to go, the next person ought to be far better to create instant changes. Else, CK is good. Team chemistry is the problem. I think he changed the whole face of the team during the off-season, and he is paying for it now.

  2. Kpogas says:

They’ve seen nothing yet. They were laughing the Soccer University Boys, Mm3t33mma, Ote Kokooso Nnanaa, Fabu Boys (KOTOKO). Draw is better than lost. We won’t lost ISHA ALLAHU!

  3. selfmade says:

Charley he for start put the big black suits down and for start to be serious oooooo…. in gr8, big coats no dey win matches!!! He for start dress like duncan!!!! Viva the revolutionciooooooooo

  4. holy says:

infact w@ is actually haping to hearts team koraa

  5. Maxwell Johnson says:

The team’s abysmal performance has nothing to do with CK but rather the players, though i agree that he changed almost the whole team during the off-season by axing most of the experience players and bringing in many young players. That doesn’t seem to be working, it will be good if he blends some of the experience players with the new young ones.

With that the results will surely start coming, but am pleading with mgt not to fire C.K it will be a DISASTER if they do so cuz all the work he has done will go waste which means the new manager that will come will have to start all over again and that wont be good for the team. I’ve watched almost all the games the team has played this season and we seem to be struggling a lot at the back, especially @ the LB position.

I also think we were a bit complacent after the emphatic 5-2 win over New Edubiase, I think all of this might have accounted for the team’s recent poor showing, 3 successive defeats is definitely not good for a team like H.O.O but this is football.

There are 25 more matches to go and I believe we can still bounce back, the league is far from over and therefore anything at all can happen.

  6. Tk says:

It is very simple, even if CK is a good coach, he cant control hearts, Let him go and bring on a more experienced coach. This Might help the team.
