Pre-season friendly: Hearts of Oak maul lower-tier side Republicans 5-0 in friendly

Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak continued their pre-season rehearsals with an easy 5-0 thrashing of lower-tier side Republicans on Thursday morning. 

South African wing-man Shaun Mason October opened the scoring in the 19th minute for Herbert Addo's men before 16-year-old gifted holding midfielder - Emmanuel Odartey added the second.

Center-back Nuru Sulley ended the first-half for the Phobians by scoring the third.

The second-half saw the Herbert Addo shuffled the line-up and introducing more experienced players with Emmanuel Hayford and others joining the fray.

Hayford registered the fourth before Hamza Mohammed sealed off the game for the Phobians at their ATTC training grounds.

Hearts' second-half line-up: Kingsley Kissi - Isaac Oduro, Hamza Mohammed, Vincent Atinga, Robin Gnane, Richard Yamoah, Emmanuel Hayford, Komi Foovi, Kwame Kisito and Sabanh Laryea.
