Ghana win first pre-Nations Cup friendly by thrashing Portuguese side Olhanense 3-0

Ghana gave their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations a boost with a comfortable  3-0 win over Portuguese second-tier Olhanense on Wednesday.

Everton winger Christian Atsu opened the scoring on 20 minutes before debutant striker Kwesi Appiah added the second just after the second half.

Coach Avram Grant then replaced the entire squad which started the match and introduced a stronger squad featuring captain Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, Harrison Afful, Mohammed Rabiu just to mention a few.

In-form striker Jordan Ayew has scored the third to complete the win.

Ghana's next match will be on 14 January against a relatively tougher opponent SC Freiburg of Germany.

Ernest Sowah-Samuel Inkoom, John Boye, Awal Mohammed, Edwin Gyimah- Afriyie Acquah, Frank Acheampong, Ibrahim Moro, Mubarak Wakaso, Christian Atsu, Kwesi Appiah

Fatau Dauda, Harrison Afful, Baba Abdul Rahman, Jonathan Mensah, Daniel Amartey, Mohammed Rabiu, Solomon Asante, David Accam, Asamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew.
