Pratt Cautions NPP: Don?t Bask In JJ?s Attack On NDC; You?re Next

Posted On Monday, 21st May 2012

Managing Editor of the ?Insight? newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be on cloud nine over Mr Rawlings? tongue-lashing of the Mills administration because they (NPP) will be the focus of his next attack.

Kwesi Pratt opines that, the former President, per the statement he delivered at the 30th Anniversary ceremony of the 31st December Women?s Movement, is simply cajoling the opposition into helping him get rid of the current administration and that a critical analysis of his recent remarks indicate the NPP is next on his radar.

?he (former President) said he has an enemy and this enemy is the NPP and he says that normally, he should not be describing the NPP as an enemy but he?s compelled to describe them as enemies because of their corruption, because of the murders they committed when they had power, abuse of power and so on; he has come to the conclusion that they are enemies who must be fought. He says that the NDC has become a traitor which must also be fought. And then he says that you cannot fight the enemy and the traitor at the same time? What he implied was that it is time to fight the traitor; to remove the traitor from power so that the enemy can assume power.

“Don?t forget he had already said that the enemy must be fought and those in the NPP who have begun jubilating and declaring support for Mr. Rawlings and his wife must go back to his speech and read or listen to it carefully because they are next on target? He is saying that; help me defeat my traitors and after I have defeated my traitors, I?m coming for you and those who are listening and jumping onto the bandwagon are only telling the people of Ghana what their level of intelligence is because it is very clear what he seeks to do,? Kwesi Pratt said on Alhaji and Alhaji, a political discussion programme on Radio Gold.

Last Tuesday, the NDC founder, who was addressing hundreds of sympathizers of the 31st December revolution which was named after the 1979 uprising where Mr. Rawlings led a group of soldiers in an abortive attempt to overthrow the Supreme Military Council on May 15, in a characteristic fashion said the NDC is at war with two opponents; a ?perceived enemy? and a ?traitor?.

According to him, the NDC has lost its ?sense of political morality? and ?moral high-ground? hence forcing some to say ?those in office are not genuinely-minded, NDC spirited, NDC-hearted people.?

?And so long as they hold onto power?then it becomes difficult to take back our party,? Mr Rawlings said.
