Fatau Dauda will get more playing time before the 2014 World Cup

Although Senzo Meyiwa will likely regain his place when Orlando Pirates visit SuperSport United, coach Vladimir Vermezovic says Fatau Dauda will get more game-time leading up to the World Cup.

Dauda has played second fiddle to Meyiwa since arriving in Mayfair in July last year, with the Ghana goalkeeper making only his third appearance of the season in the 1-0 loss to Mpumalanga Black Aces in midweek.

Meyiwa was suspended for the Aces game - after which some Bucs fans criticised Dauda for conceding - but is available again for Saturday's tie at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

"Dauda made a good job I can't complain, but Senzo is our number one goalkeeper," Vermezovic says. "He [Dauda] will get more chances to play now that there is a World Cup coming.

Dauda is desperate to feature as his inactivity puts him at risk of missing out on the Black Stars' World Cup campaign, with the tournament kicking off in June.
