Pictures: Closing ceremony of 2012 AFCON

Posted On Sunday, 12th February 2012

The Stade de l’Amitie in Libreville, Gabon was a beautiful sight to watch as the curtains drew down on the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Just before kickoff in the final game between Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire, the packed stadium was treated to wonderfully-worked graphics on the pitch with a feast of fireworks in support.

GHANAsoccernet.com was priviledged to be present and has filed this pictorial report:

  9. liswaniso says:

you hav done us proud chipolopolo, keep it up and win the 2014 world cup.we owe it to one man,our coach herve renard.

  10. Kuuku, Berlin says:

Ghanaians must now take consolation in the fact that it was our time to take the cup home!THE BLAME ATTITUDE AND INSULTS MUST STOP!!. All the blames which were being thrown at the various people, are now turning out to be unfair and out of anger. We should cool down and reorganize ourselves for the next competitions and qualis ahead of us. Please give the coach the chance to do his job. If Ghanaians would remember The Zambian Coach – Herve Renard was once part of former Ghana coach Le Roy’s Team . Ghana gave him also the marching orders after the 2008 CAN (Ghanaians made fun of him , saying he was only a physical trainer and not a coach), now 4 years later his Zambian team threw Ghana out of the AFCON Semi-Finals and went ahead to win the cup! This is not the first time a former coach and his team has thrown Ghana out at the semi-finals of the African Cup. In 2008 it was Otto Pfister. Ghanaians must start learning to be patient with their coaches – ALL COACHES , whether foreigners or LOCAL. LET US GIVE THEM THE CHANCE AND PIECE OF MIND AND SUPPORT, FOR THEM TO DO THEIR JOB!!!

  11. Kuuku, Berlin says:

    CORRECTIONS:
Ghanaians must now take consolation in the fact that it was NOT our TURN to take the cup home!THE BLAME ATTITUDE AND INSULTS……
. LET US GIVE THEM THE CHANCE AND PEACE OF MIND AND SUPPORT, FOR THEM TO DO THEIR JOB!!!

  12. Duku says:

The coach, Kwarasey, Togoe, and Jordan (not a good striker) are not fit for the black stars. If we leave them in the team we will live to regreat it.

  13. Pendrive says:

I really really loved the closing ceremony and in all the fire works.
    I salute you all (GHABON.)

  14. REALITY says:

My friend Musah, which team beat Egypt in and out during the qualifications? If it was Zambia then that adds to their beating of Ghana,Ivory Coast and Senegal.
