Peter Essien is shocked at the downward spiral of Berekum Arsenals in the seven -week old Ghana Premier League.
The gunners were left bitterly disappointed after they suffered their fourth defeat of the season, going down 1-0 at newly promoted Amidaus Professionals.
Anthony Alloteyââ¬â¢s men fell behind in the 66th minute at the Tema sports stadium when Selasi Adjei slotted home after Rasheed Muntawaki could only parry Yahaya Mohammedââ¬â¢s shot into the strikerââ¬â¢s path.
The Berekum-based side battled hard to equalize but were left frustrated by a well-organised Amidaus side.
And striker Essien could not hide his frustration after the defeat, which leaves the Gunners languishing at the bottom of the table.
ââ¬ÅWe are really down because we expected to win the game. But Amidaus raised their game and made it difficult for us,â⬠Essien said
ââ¬ÅI donââ¬â¢t know what is happening to us. We play all the beautiful game but weââ¬â¢re unable to win.
ââ¬ÅI am shocked. Something must be terribly wrong somewhere. We are still confident of beating the drop.
ââ¬ÅWe have only played seven matches and the points build up are not much.ââ¬
Arsenals will host Ashantigold in their next fixture at the Golden City Park on November 25.
