Few Ghanaian players were involved in action for their various clubs abroad with majority of European league season over.

Ghana U20 midfielder Daniel Amartey and striker Samuel Afum were on target while Daniel Opare was in fantastic shape for Standard Liege in Belgium.

SWITZERLAND
Striker Samuel Afum scored his second goal on a two game running after scoring the opener for Young Boys in their 4-2 defeat to FC Zurich.

SWEDEN
Former Ghana U17 captain Nasiru Mohammed scored his first goal of the season for BK Hacken as they hammered Syrianska FC 3-0.

Compatriot Reuben Aryana was not in the Hacken team.

Ghanaian youngster Daniel Amartey scored in regulation time but his side Djurgarden IF were beaten 3-1 on penalties to IFK Goteborg in the Swedish Cup final on Sunday.

UAE
Striker Asamoah Gyan scored his 31st goal of the season for Al Ain in their 2-1 win over Al Nasr in the Pro Leagaue on Friday.

USA
Khalif Alhassan played the last two minutes for Portland Timbers who comfortably beat DC United 2-0.

Striker Dominic Oduro scored his sixth goal of the season but was forced off the field with injury in the eighth minute as his Columbus Crew side held New York Red Bull to a 2-2 draw.

Patrick Nyarko lasted full time and was booked in the 55th minute for Chicago Fire who drew 1-1 with Real Salt Lake.

American-born Quincy Amarikwa scored the goal for Fire.

UKRAINE
Arsenal Kiev moved to eighth place after holding Chornomorets to a 0-0 draw.

Black Stars returnee Dominic Adiyiah was introduced in the 60th minute by Arsenal but winger Abeiku Quansah was not in their team because he has travelled down to Ghana.

TUNISIA
Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Uriah Asante played for Etoile du Sahel who lost 1-0 at CS Sfaxien.

Harrison Afful and Emmanuel Clottey both played 90 minutes for Esperance who pipped Club Africain 1-0.

SPAIN
Wakaso Mubarak was sent off in Espanyol’s 2-0 home defeat to Barcelona.

Michael Essien played full-time for Real Madrid when they drew 3-3 with Real Sociedad.

He was booked in the 45th minute.

Anthony Annan was not involved in Osasuna’s 2-1 win over Sevilla due to fitness issues.

In the Segunda B, goalkeeper Razal Brimah manned the post for Guadalajara when they drew 0-0 with Racing Santander.

SOUTH AFRICA
Midfielder Edwin Gyimah won the man of the match award despite his SuperSports United losing 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in the South African Cup final.

RUSSIA
Crocked Abdul Majeed Waris watched from the stands when his Spartak Moscow side defeated Alaniya 2-0 to move to fourth place.

ROMANIA
Astra Giurgiu and CFR Cluj shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.

Former Ghana youth striker Sadat Bukari started the match and lasted till the 53rd minute for Astra but midfielder Seidu Salifu was not in the Astra team.

Muniru Sulley was an unused substitute by Cluj.

PORTUGAL
David Addy saw 90 minutes of action and helped Vitória Guimarães fought from a goal down to defeat Benfica 2-1 and lift the Taça de Portugal.

NORWAY
Adam Kwarasey and Bismark Adjei-Boateng were involved in the 2-1 win over Aalesund on Friday.

Defender Razak Nuhu watched from the bench.

King Osei-Gyan watched Viking’s 2-1 win over Tromso from the bench.

Elsewhere, Ernest Asante saw full time action for IK Start who held Sogndal to a 1-1 draw.

HOLLAND
FC Utrecht sealed a Europa League spot despite losing 2-1 to FC Twente on Sunday. They qualify on a 3-2 aggregate.

Nana Akwasi Asare missed the game to suspension while youngster Edwin Gyasi and Shaddrack Eghan watched from the Twente bench.

SOUTH KOREA
Speedster Derek Asamoah lasted the entire match but failed to help Daegu avoid a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Pohang Steelers.

ITALY
Midfielder Alfred Duncan saw full time action for Livorno when they drew 1-1 with Brescia on Sunday.

GREECE
Midfielder Aragol Jamal failed to make the Atromitos first team squad when they beat PAS Giannina 2-0 in the UCL play-offs.

FRANCE
Mohammed Abu was axed from the Lorient first team squad when they lost 3-1 to PSG.

Andre and Jordan Ayew were both involved in Olympique Marseille’s 0-0 draw with Stade Reims.

John Mensah played the entire 90 minutes in central defence for Stade Rennes who lost 2-0 at Lyon.

Black Stars returnee Samuel Inkoom was involved in the entire 90 minutes for Bastia when they split the points in a 1-1 draw with Sochaux.

Ishmael Yartey watched from the Sochaux bench.

FINLAND
Former Kotoko defender Gideon Baah played 90 minutes for FC Honka and helped them to beat KuPS 2-0.

BELGIUM
Daniel Opare was solid at full-back for Standard Liege when they hammered Gent 7-0 to book a Europa League spot.
