Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and David Accam were the highlights of the weekend for Ghanaian players abroad as they both scored a double for Al Ain and Helsingborg IF respectively. 

There were also goals for Abraham Kudemor, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, Mahatma Otoo, John Antwi, Kevin Mensah, Alhassan Wakaso and Abdul Basit.

NORWAY

Former Ghana Golden Shoe Award winner Mahatma Otoo scored in the 16th minute and played 88 minutes for Sogndal who shocked themselves with a 3-0 away victory over Haugesund.

Ernest Asante last 64 minutes for IK Start who suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 2-0 to visiting Viking on Sunday evening.

2007 Ghana U17 World Cup midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi played full throttle for Stabæk who recorded their second straight win in the league after beating Bodø / Glimt 2-1.

Stromsgodset remain in firm control at the summit of the Eliteserien table after beating Odd Grenland 2-1 in Drammen. Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey manned the post for the champions while midfielder Mohammed Abu also played the entire 90 minutes for Stromsgodset. Nana Boateng missed the game with injury.

Elsewhere in the Division One, Manchester City loanee Enock Kwakwa could not make the Ullensaker / Kisa first team squad when they lost 1-0 against Hønefoss on Sunday.

Still in the second-tier league at the Bryne Stadion, former Ghana U17 captain Paul Addo glittered in midfield for Bryne who posted a 2-0 win over Tromsdalen.

Aziz Idriz played the entire 90 minutes for Ham-Kam who were pipped 1-0 at leaders Tromso.

FRANCE

Winger Andre Ayew played the entire 90 minutes of the game for Olympique Marseille who shared the spoils with Nantes in a 1-1 draw.

Saint-Etienne stunned Evian TG by beating them 2-1 at the Parc des Sports. Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah played at right-back for Evian.

Striker Abdul Majeed Waris made an injury return to play for Valenciennes but he could not score as Guingamp defeated them 1-0 on Saturday.

Stade Rennes have sunk to 15th place on the log after failing to beat Lorient at the Route de la Lorient on Saturday. Ghana international defender John Boye played in central defence for Rennes.

Striker Jordan Ayew played 89 minutes for Sochaux who resisted Paris Saint-Germain by holding them to a 1-1 draw at the Stade Auguste-Bonal.

In the Ligue 2, Kwame Nsor was in joy as his Metz side security promotion to the Ligue 1 after thrashing Auxerre 3-0 on Saturday. The former Ghana U17 and U20 was nursing injury and did not play the match for Metz.

Former Ghana youth midfielder Charles Boateng was in action for Avranches who posted a 3-0 victory over Cherbourg on Saturday.

Kevin Osei played part of Olympique Marseille II's 1-1 draw at Agde on Sunday afternoon.

In the Ligue de Nationale, Brian Amofa was not in the Strasbourg team that defeated Bourg-Péronnas 2-1 on Saturday.

SWEDEN

Ghana forward David Accam scored a brace for Helsingborg IF and helped to end their losing run by winning 3-1 against bottom-placed Mjällby. He was replaced in the 89th minute while former Heart of Lions midfielder Kwame Bonsu was substituted in the 81st minute by Mjällby. Ema Boateng missed the game due to injury.

Godsway Donyoh could not make the Falkenberg team when IFK Goteborg defeated them 1-0 on Saturday.

Orebro resisted a stubborn Åtvidaberg to beat them 3-2 on Saturday. Ghana defender Sam Mensah was on the Orebro bench but Mohammed Abubakari missed the game.

BK Hacken and AIK Solna shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Nya Gamla Ullevi. Nasiru Mohammed and Ebenezer Ofori started the game for Hacken and AIK respectively but were both replaced before the end.

Robin Quaison also played for AIK but Edward Owusu and Ibrahim Moro were not in the AIK team for the game.

In the Superettan, Former Heart of Lions striker Benjamin Fadi was booked in the 60th minute and played 75 minutes for Värnamo who beat Öster 3-2.

NETHERLANDS

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Johan Kappelhof was in full time action for FC Groningen who defeated Roda JC 2-1.

Shadrach Eghan came of the FC Twente bench to play the last 15 minutes in their 5-2 away victory over NEC.

Elvis Manu suffered an injury in the 33rd minute and could not play again for Cambuur who got thrashed 5-1 at Feyenoord in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

Dutch-born defender Mitch Apau played 70 minutes for RKC Waalwijk who held NAC Breda to a 1-1 draw at the Rat Verlegh Stadion. Jeffrey Sarpong sat on the Breda bench.

Fred Benson played the last 20 minutes of the game for PEC Zwolle who lost 2-1 against PSV Eindhoven.

Heracles Almelo managed to hold Ajax Amsterdam to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon. Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Quansah played full throttle for Heracles while Matthew Amoah and Edwin Gyasi both sat on the bench.

Vitesse Arnhem were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday afternoon. Ghana winger Christian Atsu set up the second goal for Vitesse.

In the second-tier league, Mustapha Yahaya was out of the Jong Twente team that lost 2-1 at Telstar.

Jong Ajax slipped to a 2-0 away defeat against De Graafschap. Kenny Tete played in defence for Jong Ajax while young striker Elton Acolatse warmed their bench.

Jonathan Opoku played the entire 90 minutes for Oss but could not score as they suffered a 2-0 away defeat againsy Excelsior Rotterdam.

Patrick Amoah was unused by Fortuna Sittard and sat on the bench in the entire match when they drew 1-1 with Emmen.

Former FC Utrecht and Valencia II winger Erixon Danso played 68 minutes for Dordrecht who drew 0-0 with Sparta Rotterdam.

ITALY

AS Roma applied the brakes on AC Milan after beating them 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday night. Ghana star midfielder Michael Essien returned from injury to play in the game for Milan. He replaced Sulley Muntari in the 58th minute of the game.

Hellas Verona moved to 8th place on the log after brushing aside Catania 2-0 at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi. Ghanaian youth international Godfred Donsah sat on the Verona bench as did Kingsley Boateng on the Catania bench.

Alfred Duncan was in full time action for relegation-trapped Livorno who lost 2-0 at home to Lazio.

Cagliari moved further away from the relegation zone after narrowly beating a ten-man Parma side 1-0 at the Stadio Sant'Elia. Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah played the full 90 minutes for Parma.

Torino handed Udinese their third defeat in five games after beating them 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was booked on the 29th minute and played the entire first-half for Udinese. Youngster Emmanuel Gyasi could not make the Torino squad for the game.

Isaac Cofie sat on the Genoa bench when they held Atalanta to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

In the Serie B, Amidu Salifu was introduced in the 56th minute by Modena who drew 3-3 with Ternana on Friday night.

Brescia moved to 12th place after beating Cesena 3-0 on Saturday. Former Inter Milan youth team forward Isaac Ntow missed the game with injury while Mase Nana Addo Welbeck could not make the Brescia team for the game. But Moro Al-Hassan was on the bench.

Fiorentina loanee Maxwell Acosty was benched by Carpi who drew 0-0 with Siena on Saturday.

Masahudu Alhassan played for Latina but he could not help them avoid a 3-1 home defeat against Palermo.

Nii Nortey Ashong was unused by Spezia who lost 2-0 at Empoli.

ENGLAND

Derek Boateng watched from the stands at the Craven Cottage when his Fulham side drew 2-2 with Hull City.

In the Championship, Dutch-born Akwasi Asante could not make the Birmingham City team when they lost 3-1 Leeds United at the St Andrew's Stadium.

Albert Adomah played 90 minutes and set up the third goal for Middlesbrough who cruised to a resounding 3-1 victory over Barnsley. Emmanuel Frimpong and former Manchester United U18 striker John Cofie were both not in the Barnsley team.

Jeffrey Schulpp missed Leicester City's 2-0 win over Huddersfield with injury.

Yeovil Town have suffered relegation from the Championship as they fate was confirmed on Friday after they lost 2-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion. Former Chelsea U21 captain Nana Ofori Twumasi warmed their bench in the game.

In the League One, former Manchester City U19 defender Curtis Obeng played the first 45 minutes for Stevenage who beat Walsall 3-2.

Former Liverpool youth team attacker David Amoo played the entire 90 minutes for Carlisle United who lost 1-0 against Oldham Athletics.

Crystal Palace loanee Hiram Boateng was not in the Crawley Town squad when they lost 2-1 at Bradford City.

In other games in the League Two, 'big' striker Patrick Agyemang played 21 minutes for Portsmouth who held Bury to a 4-4 draw.

Stoke City U21 striker James Alabi was not in the Scunthorpe United team that lost 2-0 at Exeter City.

GERMANY

Eintracht Braunschweig remain afoot the Bundesliga table after losing 2-0 against Hertha Berlin. German-born Ghana target Karim Bellarabi came off the bench to play the entire second half for Braunschweig.

Borussia M'gladbach enhanced their credibility in the league by posting a 1-0 win over Schalke 04 at the Veltins Arena on Sunday. Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng played the entire 90 minutes for the Royal Blues but Anthony Annan warmed the bench.

In the Bundesliga II, Greuther Furth suffered a 2-1 home loss against 1860 München on Friday. Ghana defender Abdul Baba Rahman was benched by Furth.

German-born Reagy Ofosu sat on the Ingolstadt bench when FC Koln held them to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Ghanaian midfielder Charles Takyi was sent off in the 43rd minute while he was in action for Energie Cottbus who lost 3-1 against FSV Frankfurt.

Marcel Appiah dropped to the Arminia Bielefeld bench but he came off the bench to play in their 4-1 win at VfL Bochum.

In the Liga 3, midfielder Evans Owusu Nyarko came off the Borussia Dortmund II to play 31 minutes in their 4-1 home loss to Wehen Wiesbaden.

Jeff Gyasi was in full time action for Elversberg who held Jahn Regensburg to a 0-0 draw. German-born Ghanaian Frederick Kyereh was not in the Elversberg team for the game.

Versatile Ghanaian attacker Phil Ofosu-Aryeh was booked in the 5th minute and played full throttle for MSV Duisburg who held Hallescher FC to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Preußen Münster and Stuttgarter Kickers shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw on Saturday. Ghanaian-born Canadian international Edwini Randy Bonsu played 72 minutes for Kickers.

In the fourth-tier league Australian-born Ghanaian youth attacker Kwame Yeboah was on the Borussia M'gladbach II bench when they drew 2-2 against Lippstadt 08.

Fortuna Koln eased past Sportfreunde Siege with a 1-0 win. Kwame Kusi came off the bench in the 82nd minute to play for Fortuna Koln.

Kwasi Okyere Wriedt played 24 minutes for St Pauli II who drew 1-1 with Weiche Flensburg.

Elsewhere, Victoria Hamburg and Hamberg SV II split points in a 0-0 draw. Ghanaian pair of Isaac Akyere and Francis Adomah were on the Hamburg SV II bench.

SPAIN

Elche FC split the points with Levante in a 1-1 draw. Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom scored the opening goal of the game for Elche. However he was replaced in the 75th minute.

Granada CF were downed 3-0 by visiting Rayo Vallecano in the La Liga on Saturday. Ghanaian youngster Fatau Mohammed warmed the bench for Granada. Richard Boateng could not make the Granada squad for the game.

In the Segunda Division, on-loan Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey played the entire 90 minutes for Real Mallorca who lost 1-0 at Deportivo Alavés.

In the Segunda B, goalkeeper Razak Ibrahim was in between the sticks for Cordaba II who were beaten 1-0 by La Hoya Lorca at their own backyard.

Richard Boateng and Clifford Aboagye were in the Granada CF II team that hammered Écija 6-1. Ghanaian forward Geroge Ofosu was on the Écija bench.

Jacob Akrong warmed the Guadalajara who defeated Cacereño 2-1.

Nana Asare played 71 minutes for Atletico Madrid II who lost 1-0 at Real Sociedad II.

Paul Quaye was in action for Espanyol II who managed a 1-1 away draw at Olímpic de Xàtiva.

Michael Anaba played for Elche II who lost 2-0 at Gimnàstic Tarragona FC.

TURKEY

Black Stars defender Jerry Akaminko was in full time action for Eskiehirspor whose season jolted with a 1-0 home loss to Kayseri Erciye.

Shaibu Yakubu played the entire first half for 1461 Trabzon who suffered a 2-1 slip at leaders Istanbul BB. Youngster Torric Jebrin missed the game with injury.

Richard Kingson was unable to reclaim his first choice place as he warmed the bench for Balikesirspor in their 2-1 away victory over bottom-placed Kahramanmaraspor.

Emmanuel Banahene played for Sanlurfaspor but could not score as they held Mersin to a 1-1 draw.

RUSSIA

Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Fuseini was on the Terek Grozny bench when they stunned Dinamo Moscow 1-0.

Wakaso Mubarak came off the Rubin Kazan bench to play the last 15 minutes of their 2-1 loss against CSKA Moscow.

Patrick Twumasi lasted 75 minutes for Amkar Perm' who held Krylya Sovetov to a 2-2 draw.

SCOTLAND

Prince Buaben played 45 minutes for Patrick Thistle who drew 1-1 with St Mirren.

BELGIUM

Former Heart of Lions midfielder Abraham Kudemor came off the Sporting Charleroi bench in the 90th minute and scored in the 94th minute as his Sporting side won 3-0 over KV Mechelen. French-born Ghanaian defender Jerry Vandam played in defence for Mechelen. But Abdul Yakinu-Iddi missed the game with injury.

Nana Akwasi Asare was highly efficient for KAA Gent who held KV Oostende to a 1-1 draw.

Anderlecht won the Belgian derby by beating Standard Liege 2-1 at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock. Daniel Opare played the full 90 minutes for Liege while Frank Acheampong returned from injury and came on for Anderlecht in the second of the game.

Denis Odoi played the full 90 minutes for Lokeren but Club Brugge condemned them to a 3-1 defeat. Youngster Eugene Ansah sat on the Lokeren bench.

Bennard Kumordzi played the entire 90 minutes of the game for KRC Genk who held Zulte-Waregem to a 2-2 draw.

In the Second Division, Stephen Asamoah played for AS Eupen who were beaten 2-1 at Westerlo.

Dutch-born Kevin Tano was in full time action for Antwerp who lost 2-0 at Hoogstraten.

DENMARK

Youngster Danny Amankwaa was brought by FC Copenhagen in the 73rd minute when they lost 1-0 against Nordsjælland.

Kevin Mensah scored in the 50th minute for Viborg who trounced AGF 3-0 and was replaced by his younger brother Jeff Mensah in the 89th minute.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Francis Narh played 72 minutes for Banik Ostrava who won 2-0 over Dukla Praha. Derrick Mensah not in the Ostrava squad for the game.

UAE

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored a brace for Al Ain in their 3-1 away victory.

Fatau Dauada was on the Orlando Pirates bench when they drew 1-1 with Platinum Stars.

Former New Edubiase United striker Abdul Basit came off the bench to score an 85th minute consolation goal for Free State Stars who lost 3-2 to Black Aces. Daniel Agyei warmed the bench for them.

EGYPT

Striker John Antwi scored for Ismaily on Sunday but his goal was not enough as Tala El Geish defeated them 3-2.

PORTUGAL

Alhassan Wakaso scored a 36th minute goal for Portimonense who thrashed Academica Viseu 4-0.

FINLAND

Former Asante Kotoko defender Gideon Baah was in action for HJK who lost  1-0 against TPS. Former Manchester City player Thomas Agyiri was in action for TPS.

SWITZERLAND

FC Sion defeated Aarau 2-0 on Saturday. Ghana attacker Ebenezer Assifuah started the game for Sion and was replaced by Ishmael Yartey on the 82nd minute.

Samuel Afum played 71 minutes for Young Boys Bern who beat Lausanne Sport 1-0.

In the Challenge League, Kofi Ntiamoah Nimeley played for relegation-trapped Lucarno who lost 1-0 at Wohlen.
