It was a drought weekend for Ghanaians abroad as only Gideon Baah found the net abroad while Sulley Muntari played his 50th match for AC Milan in the Serie A.

Abdul Majeed Waris was not in action due to injury but Jordan Ayew helped Sochaux to record a vital away win to boost their survival chances.

FINLAND

Gideon Baah was the only Ghanaian to score abroad this weekend as he was on target as his Finnish giants club HJK Helsinki as they lost 3-1 against Lahti. Baah, the former Kotoko scored the first goal before they went down heavily.

FRANCE

Andre Ayew played for Olympique Marseille who split points in a 0-0 draw with Lille.

Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris missed Valeciennes' 6-2 home loss to Nantes with a calf problem.

Jordan Ayew was in full time action for Sochaux and helped them to beat Stade Reims 1-0 to enhance their chances of beating the drop.

John Boye was a pillar in defence for Stade Rennes who held Saint Etienne to a 0-0 draw.

On-loan AS Monaco defender Dennis Appiah played for Caen who posted a 1-0 win over Auxerre.

Crocked Ghana youth attacker Kwame Nsor watched from the stands as his Metz side defeated CA Bastia 1-0.

In the Ligue de National, Ghanaian youth midfielder Brian Amofa scored a 60th minute opener for Strasbourg who held second-placed Orléans to a 1-1 draw.

In the fourth-tier league, former Ghana U17 attacker Charles Boateng was in full time action for Avranches who posted a 2-0 victory over Plabennec.

SPAIN

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom came off the bench to play the last 13 minutes for Elche FC who suffered a 2-0 loss at Atletico Madrid.

Sevilla trounced Granada 4-0 to push themselves up the La Liga ladder. Ghanaian midfielder Fatau Mohammed warmed the bench for Granada but Richard Boateng could not make the Granada team.

In the Segunda Division, Deportivo La Coruna confirmed their superiority over Real Mallorca by beating them 3-0. Atletico Madrid loanee Thomas Teye Partey was booked in the 54th minute and played full-time.

Isaac Nana Asare played for Atletico Madrid II who lost 3-2 to Huesca at their own backyard.

Richard Boateng and Clifford Aboagye were in action for Granada II who posted a 4-1 victory over Algeciras on Sunday.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Anaba was not in the Elche II team when they posted a 2-0 win over Badalona.

Young midfielder Paul Quaye was also not in the Espanyol II that posted a 4-3 win over Ontinyent.

SWEDEN

BK Hacken moved up the Allsvenskan table at the expense of Mjällby after thrashing them 4-1 on Sunday. Former Ghana U17 captain Nasiru Mohammed came off the bench to play the last 20 minutes for Hacken while former Heart of Lions midfielder Kwame Bonsu lasted the entire match for Mjällby.

Norrköping shocked themselves with a surprising 2-1 win at AIK Solna. Swedish-born Robin Quaison started the match and played full time for AIK but former New Edubiase United midfielder Moro Ibrahim was on the AIK bench. However, both Edward Owusu and Ebenezer Ofori were not in the AIK team for the game.

Attack David Accam recovered in time from an ankle injury to play for Helsingborg IF who lost 2-1 at newly-promoted Halmstad BK. King Osei Gyan was in full time action for Halmstad. Ema Boateng was still out with back problem.

In the second-tier league, Thomas Boakye came off the Ostersunds BK bench to play entire second-half for them in their 1-1 draw with Husqvarna.

NORWAY

Ernest Asante played 64 minutes for IK Start and helped them to snatch a point from Sarpsborg 08 after drawing 1-1.

TURKEY

Former Ghana U23 striker Shaibu Yakubu came off the bench to play the last 11 minutes for 1461 Trabzon who drew 1-1 with Kahramanmara?spor. Remember youngster Torric Jebrin is out for the rest of the season with injury.

Elsewhere in other games, goalkeeper Richard Kingson was axed from the Balikesirspor team following his appalling performance last weekend and they won 1-0 over Maninsaspor. Striker Kwame Karikari is still out with injury.

Emmanuel Banahene could not find the net to help ?anl?urfaspor who were beaten 1-0 at home by Andanaspor.

SCOTLAND

In the Premiership relegation play-off, Arsenal loanee Daniel Boateng was on the Hibernian bench when St Mirren defeated them 2-0.

BELGIUM

KV Mechelen brightened their chances of playing in next season's Europa League after beating Kortrijk 2-0. French-born defender Jerry Vandam was in full time action for Mechelen but midfielder Abdul Yakinu-Iddi missed the game with injury.

Former Heart of Lions midfielder Abraham Kudemor played the last 8 minutes for Sporting Charleroi who defeated Cercle Brugge 2-0 to remain at the top.

Nana Akwasi Asare set up a goal for KAA Gent who posted a 4-2 win over Waasland-Beveren.

Eugene Ansah sat on the Lokeren bench when they posted a 3-2 win over Zulte-Waregem.

SOUTH AFRICA

Maritzburg United recorded their first league victory over Ajax Cape Town by beating them 2-0 in the Absa Premier League on Friday. Former AshGold striker Yakubu Mohammed returned to the United team after a long injury lay-off but was unused. However defender Awal Mohammed played the entire 90 minutes while Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi sat on the bench.

Awal Mohammed played in central defence for Maritzburg United but Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi and Yakubu Mohammed sat on the bench in their 2-0 win over Ajax Cape Town.

Former Hearts of Oak defender Seth Owusu was not in the Golden Arrows team that beat Platinum Stars 4-1.

Edwin Gyimah helped ten-man SuperSport United to draw 0-0 with Wits University.

Defender Rashid Sumaila gallantly defended Mamelodi Sundowns and helped them to protect their lead when they beat Moroka Swallows 1-0.

John Arwuah was in action for AmaZulu who drew 0-0 with Pretoria University.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Banik Ostrava boosted their survival chances with a 4-0 drubbing of Znojmo. Former Ghana U20 striker Francis Narh played full throttle but compatriot Derek Mensah sat on their bench.

Slovan Liberec beat Slovacko 2-1 to move into mid-table place. Dutch-born Kevin Luckassen played full time for Liberec while former Liberty Professionals midfielder Isaac Sackey sat on their bench.

ITALY

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah was in full time action for Juventus who beat Bologna 1-0 to amass 90 points for the season.

Young attacker Emmanuel Gyasi was on the Torino bench they held Lazio to a pulsating 3-3 draw.

On-loan AC Milan attacker Kingsley Boateng warmed the Catania bench in their rare 2-1 win over Sampdoria.

Raman Chibsah was unused and sat on the Sassuolo bench in their 1-0 away victory over Chievo Verona.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was in full time action for Udinese who managed to hold Napoli to a 1-1 draw in the Serie A on Saturday afternoon.

Sulley Muntari made an injury return to play part in AC Milan's 3-0 victory over Livorno at the San Siro. But Michael Essien could not recover in time for the game. On-loan Inter Milan midfielder Alfred Duncan was booked in the 21st minute and played 90 minutes.

Youngster Godfred Donsah came off the Hellas Verona bench to play his maiden Serie A game in their 2-1 win at Atalanta.

Afriyie Acquah was dropped to the Parma bench and did not play any part in their 2-0 home loss to Inter Milan.

Isaac Cofie was brought on in the 56th minute by Genoa who suffered a 2-1 home loss against Cagliari.

In the Serie B on Thursday, Fiorentina loanee Nii Nortey Ashong was unused by Spezia as he warmed the bench in their 1-0 win over Siena.

Former Inter Milan youth player Isaac Ntow played 60 minutes for Brescia who lost 3-1 to Padova. Youngster Welbeck Nana Addo Mase was not in the Brescia team for the game.

Modena squeezed a point from Carpi after holding them to a 2-2 draw at their own backyard. Fiorentina loanee Amidu Salifu played the entire first-half for Modena and was replaced before the start of the second half but winger Maxwell Acosty was a bench warmer.

Moro Al-Hassan was on the Cesena bench when they lost 1-0 at Cittadella.

PORTUGAL

Vitória Guimarães' horrible season continued in the Portuguese top-flight when a less fancied Arouca side defeated them 3-2 at their own backyard. David Addy was not in the team but youngster Bernard Mensah sat on their bench.

In the second-tier division, Alhassan Wakaso played 90 minutes for Portimonsense who lost 3-0 at União Madeira.

USA

In the Major Soccer League, midfielder Gershon Koffie played for Vancouver Whitecaps who shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with LA Galaxy.

Dominic Oduro lasted 62 minutes for Columbus Crew when they beat DC United 1-0.

Khalif Alhassan played 77 minutes for Portland Timbers who lost 1-0 against Real Salt Lake.

RUSSIA

Amkar Perm slipped to a 2-0 home defeat against FC Ural in the Premier League. Former Ghana U20 invitee Patrick Twumasi started the game for Amkar but was replaced by Dutch international Gianluca Nijholt in the 60th minute.

Rabiu Mohammed was introduced in the 67th minute by Kuban Krasnodar who suffered a 4-0 thrashing by CSKA Moscow.

Wakaso Mubarak started the but was replaced just after half-time by Rubin Kazan who posted a 2-1 win over Spartak Moscow.

NETHERLANDS

Helmond Sport subjected Jong FC Twente to a 5-1 mauling in the second-tier league. Ghanaian midfielder Mustapha Yahaya was introduced by Twente 26 minutes from time.

Erixon Danso missed Dordrecht's 5-2 away victory over Telstar with injury.

Striker Patrick Amoah was unused by Fortuna Sittard who held Maastricht to a 2-2 drawn game on Friday.

Jong Ajax suffered a 2-0 home loss against Excelsor to complete a quartet of defeats. Dutch-born Kevin Tete played in defence for Jong Ajax but Elton Acolatse was selected for the game but was unused as he warmed the bench.

Jonathan Opoku was in full time action for Oss who shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with ten-man Volendam.

GERMANY

VfL Stuttgart handed down a 3-1 defeat to Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Anthony Annan was unused once more by Schalke but Kevin-Prince Boateng played full throttle for Schalke.

Karim Bellarabi missed Eintracht Braunschweig's 2-0 home loss to Bayern Munich with a groin problem.

In the Bundesliga 2, Baba Abdul Rahman dropped to the Greuther Furth bench when they held Paderborn to a 2-2 draw.

Reagy Ofosu sat on the Ingolstadt bench when they drew 0-0 at Aalen.

Marcel Appiah played full throttle for Arminia Bielefeld who lost 2-1 at 1860 Munich.

Charles Takyi was in full time action for Energie Cottbus who shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with St Pauli.

In the Liga 3, Frederick Kyereh could not make the Elversberg team that drew 1-1 with leaders Heidenheim but Jeff Gyasi played full throttle for them.

Evans Owusu Nyarko played the full 90 minutes for Borussia Dortmund II who lost 3-1 at Rot-Weiß Erfurt.

Erich Berko was unused by Stuttgart II who posted a 3-2 victory over Unterhaching.

American-born son of former Ghana international Joseph-Claud Gyau was booked in the 25th minute and played full time for Hoffenheim II when Wormatia Worms beat them 2-0.

In the Nordost Regionalliga, Cristiano Kwasi Boachie was in full time action for Berlin Ankaraspor who lost 2-1 at home to Union Berlin II.

ENGLAND

Derek Boateng could not make the Fulham squad once more when Tottenham Spurs thrashed them 3-1 at the White Hart Lane.

Leicester City further confirmed their superiority in the Championship after beating QPR 1-0 at the Kings Power Stadium. Versatile Ghana defender Jeffrey Schulpp suffered an injury and was replaced in the 77th minute.

Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Akwasi Asante could not make the Birmingham City squad for their away game at Nottingham Forest which they lost 1-0.

Winger Albert Adomah lasted the entire 90 minutes of the game for Middlesborough who slipped to a 2-1 home defeat to Milwall.

Emmanuel Frimpong could not make the Barnsley squad when they lost 1-0 to Leeds United.

In League One, Crystal Palace loanee Hiram Boateng was not in the Crawley Town team due to injury when they brushed Leyton Orient aside in a 2-1 victory.

Former Manchester City youth team defender Curtis Obeng played at right-back for Stevenage who recorded a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United.

Former Liverpool U21 striker David Amoo played 85 minutes for Carlisle United who drew 1-1 with Walsall.

Elsewhere in the League Two, Dagenham & Red posted a narrow 1-0 away victory over Torquay. Former Arsenal youth team player Abumere Ogogo and Chris Dickson both played for Dagenham & Red.

Former Arsenal trainee Jo Osei Kuffuor was in action for ten-man Wycombe Wanderers who drew 1-1 with Northampton Town.

In the Conference League, Birmingham City loanee Koby Arthur was introduced in the last 9 minutes by Lincoln City who beat Cambridge United 1-0.

DENMARK

Midtjylland tightened their grip on second spot after trouncing Aarhus 4-0 on Friday. Defender Francis Dickoh was in central defence for Midtjylland while Kolja Afriyie sat on the bench for Midtjylland.
