Ghanaian youth international forward Patrick Twumasi stretched his scoring run further by netting a brace to propel Astana to their third straight win as they hammered Kairat 5-1 on Wednesday evening.

The 20-year-old has now scored six goals in his last three games in the Kazakhstan Premier League.

Astana went into the game on top of the table and emerged heavy victors to remain top of the table as the Championship Play-Offs rounds nears its closure.

It was their Ghanaian striker who sparked the goal rout after setting up early goals to put them in front after the visitors had taken the lead.

He then cemented the win for Astana by hitting a double within two minutes of the last five minutes of the game.

The former Red Bull Academy graduate was a fox in the box in the 85th as he arrived in time to meet a Foxi cross to grab a poacher's goal. Two minutes later, he was at it again with another patent finish to sign off the win for Astana.
