Partick Thistle loanee Prince Buaben is determined to use his time in Scotland to force his way into Ghana’s World Cup squad.

The 25-year old midfielder, who is on loan from Carlisle United, missed out on the Black Stars squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and is now hoping to play consistently at club level in order to turn the head of the national team boss.

"I spoke to my agent and the Ghana manager Akwasi Appiah and he told me that I needed to be playing regularly if I wanted to have a chance of going to the World Cup and that is why I have come to Partick Thistle," the former Dundee United and Watford man told Sky Sports.

"I want to play as often as I can and try to impress the Ghana manager so that he takes me to Brazil.

"I was unlucky that I missed the last World Cup with Ghana because of injury and I am determined not to experience that disappointment again.

"It is a dream for any player to represent their country at a World Cup and I hope I can realise that dream."
