Acquah handed late Ghana call-up for Malawi qualifier after Badu injury

Italian Serie A side Parma have confirmed that Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah for next's week 2013 Africa Cup final qualifier against Malawi, MTNFootball can exclusively reveal.

Acquah has earned a late call-up into the Black Stars squad after injury to Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.

"Italy-based midfielder Afriyie Acquah has been drafted in to replace Agyemang Badu," a Ghana FA statement read.

The box-box midfielder made a loan switch to the Stadio Ennio Tardini from Paleromo on a season-long loan deal.

He has made three appearances in the Italian Serie A so far.

Acquah will join Ghana's squad in Nairobi, Kenya where they begin preparations before facing the Flames in Lilongwe on 13 October.

The 20-year-old will be chasing his second cap after debuting this February in an international friendly against Chile.

Last week, Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah released a list of 21 players including two newcomers Daniel Nii Adjei and Mubarak Wakaso.

Ghana hold a 2-0 lead from the first leg played last month in Accra.
