Panathinaikos counting on Owusu-Abeyie for Europa success

Panathinaiko are counting on Quincy Owusu-Abeyie to turn the tables against Maribor

Panathinaikos are counting on Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie to help leapfrog Maribor to third place in Group J in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Greek giants are chasing after their first win of the competition against Slovenian champions Maribor at the Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis.

Panathinaikos boss Juan Rocha will be counting on the former Arsenal wing-wizard to turn the tables and deliver their first win of the competition.

The 26-year-old Quincy has been in explosive form for the Shamrocks in both domestic and European campaigns providing four assists in 12 appearances.

The Athens-based side lost the first-leg 3-0 at the Ljudski vrt in September.

Quincy is hoping to make Kwesi Appiah’s final 23-man squad for January’s AFCON.

Brother Quincy,i do keep u in my prayers so that God will touch the heart of the Kumasi coach to call u up.You are the kind of player Ghana needs not wasteful players like Derek boateng,Lee Addy,Inkoom and Laryea Kingston. They are useless players in my opinion.

  2. Nana Owusu says:

Mr AA, so far u have been the most listen coach Ghana have got lately. Now it left one thing u have to do for Ghanaian by calling Quincy. Pls Just call this dude. Thank you.

  3. Sergeant says:

How can we have experienced players around while the coach does ‘try and error‘ with the Black Stars? We will continue to play second fiddle to Zambia until we do the right things.

  4. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

HE IS THE BEST NUMBER 7 WE CAN RELY ON. AA, MAKE WILD AND CALL THE BOY. NA WOSO WO Y3 PERSON

  5. mower says:

Don’t worry Ghanaian,i have strong feeling that Quincy will make the 23 man squad.AA surprise package to Ghanaian.

  6. yaw2 says:

Ideed Ghana should invite Quincy. GFA stop taking bribe from John Paintsil,Inkoom,Dereck Boateng and Leee Addy these players are inactive in their club.

  7. real sabacious says:

Thank guys!all this comments are just for the sake of GHANA,i hope and pray that the technical team will stop the nonsense of imposing inkoom in the team and making him byforce nr.7.i’ll be very dissapointed as a Ghanaian if Abeyie is left out of the final 23 man for the afcon.this is a guy who is better as a striker than all the strikers we’ve in the team.i’ve my own doubt about Gyan form when its comes to competitative matches, though he has been scoring for his club.Abeyie can play both 7 and 11.he has matured in his game now by always tracking back to defend unlike before.akwasi appiah has to explain to Ghanaians incase he decided to exclude abeyie from the afcon.otherwise some of us will never forgive him.@lee addy,he has every right to dream.virtus international imposition of it players in the stars gradually fading.(prince of woes, adiyiah, inkoom and lee addy are all history)

  8. yaw2 says:

Ghanaman you talk like you have P.M.S..your friend Lee Addy win never gonna make it to the final squad okay pussy hole.David Addy or Nana Asareh are the best candidate for the left back position.Central position.

  9. selfmade says:

Is now or never and am just waiting patiently for appiah to called quincy into the team and should he ignored quincy again,i ll hate him nd his fam for the rest of my life!! I ll also hate nyantakyi for the rest of my life and ll be anti-gfa for the rest of my fucking life!! If the sons of bitches at the fa has issues with quincy,i think that has got nothing to do with appiah and therefore he needs to do the right thing and called fucking quincy into the fucking team because we all getting fucking tire of this fucking bullshit!!! Are these fucking fa shitting or what??? How can a whole fa president said that, this time around we not going to take half fit players to the tournament!!! Damn!!!! So it means all along he was doing the wrong things by taking bribes from these half fit players!!!….. we are waiting to see and it wouldn’t be pretty if the right things are not done!! Viva the revolutionciooooo!!!!!

    • Chale' 1 says:

Ayo Selfmade, calm down my dawg. You might blow a fuse…but on a serious note, you hit the nail on the head. GFA needs to get their house in order call up players on merit. Quincy definitely deserves a place in the team.

  10. NANA YAW says:

Half fit or no half fit, Ghana has got good talents to represent us for any tournament. Discipline is what we need in the senior national team. From the FA and the entire team. The footballers must know that they are doing nothing but a national assignment. No need to be upset if your colleague wrongs you, first think of the Nation(GHANA). And leave all the rest to GOD, I am looking forward to Dede Ayew he has been very selfish in our games lately. GOD BLESS GHANA!
