Owusu-Abeyie in furious training ground bust-up with Panathinaikos boss

Posted On Thursday, 17th January 2013

Owusu-Abeyie was involved in training ground bust-up with Panathinaikos boss Fabri

Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie was involved in a furious shoving match with Panathinaikos technical staff on Tuesday.

The Shamrocks’ Dutch-born former Arsenal forward got involved in heated confrontation with new Spanish manager
Fabriciano González who ordered him off the pitch for being lackadaisical at training.

However, Quincy steadfastly refused to leave the field prompting angering reactions from Fabri.

Reports in the Greek media say the two patch up after training and the 26-year-old is expected to escape punishment.

Quincy is on a season long loan deal at the Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis from Qatari side Al Sadd.

so what all that GSN wants to say is that he does not respect that was why AA did not call him for the AFCON

  2. Kwamina says:

Great talent + poor attitude = Inconsistency. This is why Quincy will always be the player with great potential who almost became a great star!

  3. D LIGHT says:

Bust up btn player vs Coach or Player vs another player is normal in football. We sldn’t forget these players are from various continents and nations with diverse mentalities n Cultures. The fact that i disagree on an issue doesn’t make me indiscipline. Today Coaches are very much aware of such characters so they are more tolerating & clever to manage such behaviours to their advantage. There are some high profile bustup btn Fergie vs Rooney / Ronaldo, Wenger vs Henry/ Sagna, Avb vs Lampard, Mourinho vs Ronaldo or Mourinho vs Ramos. Its so normal… Its all for the growth of the game. That is why today coaches are now called Managers- they partially condone some spats to harness the Potential in their players to their advantage. There is always a brawl btn Radamel falcao and his coach Simeone but whenever he scores, he runs to his coach for a hug. Lewandowski vs klopp n Ballotelli vs Mancini are some other examples. Let’s not make a Fuss on this. It’s no big deal at all…

  4. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

spaniards are generally racist and act untowards towards BLACKS. QUINCY IS AWARE PF THIS. WE WERE NOT PRESENT TO KNOW WHO IS AT FAULT,. BUT LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF MOST SPANIARDS WHEN THEY COME INTO CONTACT WITH BLACKS? IM VERY SAD THAT QUINCY WASNT CALLED TO AFCON 2013.
ANYWAY, MY ADVICE TO QUINCY IS THIS. ADVERSITY SHOULD MAKE U BETTER. ADVERSITY IS LIKE FIRE TO MEAT. PERHAPS PLAYERS LIEK ABEDI, WEAH, DROGBA N ESSIEN WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ANYWHEREIN TERMS OF CAREER HAD THEY NOT FOUND A WAY TO DEAL AND STOMACH ADVERSITY. QUINCY HAS IMMENSE TALENT. HE SHOULD BE PLAYING IN SPAIN, EPL, FRANCE,SWISS…U KNOW THE BEST LEAGUES ON THIS EARTH. HE SHOULD IGNORE THE IGNORANT AND LET HIS FEET DO THE TALKING. I WANT TO SEE HIM IN BRASIL. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM OWNING THE NUMBER 7 SPOT FOR GH IN BRASIL.
