South African giants Orlando Pirates are set to complete the signing of Supersport United's Ghanaian midfielder Edwin Gyimah after chairman Irvan Khoza confirmed a deal is close.

Gyimah is currently looking for a move following the expiry of his loan deal at Mpumalanga Black Aces as he has had fallen further down the pecking order at SuperSport following their signing of New Zealand defender Michael Boxall.

According to a report by City Press, negotiations between Bucs and Matsatsantsa over the services of the Ghanaian midfielder are now at advanced stage.

The Sunday newspaper quoted Bucs chairman Khoza confirming their interest in Gyimah.

"We have engaged with Supersport [for Gyimah] and we are at an advanced stage with negotiations,” Khoza revealed.

Gyimah made 22 starts for AmaZayoni last season, scoring a solitary goal.
