Ghanaian striker Jonathan Opoku scored to help struggling Dutch second-tier side Veendam cruise to a 2-0 victory over Emmen to move out of the of the relegation zone.
The 21-year-old Dutch born clinical finisher hit the byline with a quick dazzle to beat his marker before shooting home the opener for Gert Heerkes’ side on 32 minutes.
Israeli international Dan Romann then sealed the maximum points for Veendam seven minutes into the second half.
Opoku has scored six times this season for Veendam.
The win has catapulted Veendam from the bottom to 16th place.
