Former Asante Kotoko coach Isaac Opeele Boateng has revealed he turned down several offers to return to the Premier League side due to lack of interest in the country’s top-flight.

The acid-tongue coach has completed a move to second-tier side Okwahu United as head coach and has been tasked to mastermind their return to the elite division.

Opeele claims he ignored advances from several top sides in the Ghana Premier League due to the deplorable state of the league.

"To be honest the Premier League doesn’t interest me and that is why I didn’t join any of them when some contacted me for the coaching job," Boateng told Peace FM on Friday.

"If I get the needed support from management, supporters and I’m given a free hand to operate, I can assure the fans we can qualify for the Premier League again.''
