Richard Mpong has completed his move to Kotoko for an undisclosed fee

By Patrick Akoto

Kotoko have completed the signing of promising winger Richard Mpong, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 21-year has finally signed the dotted lines in time before the transfer window shut on Friday evening.

While no fee has been announced, it is understood the Ghanaian Champions paid a hefty fee to secure the services of the highly-rated player.

With a year left on his contract, the Tarwaka-based side opted to do business since the player was angling for a move to his boyhood club.

Mpong is considered as one of the rising stars in the country and his capture will excite the club’s teeming followers.

The 21-year-old was a member of the Ghana Under-17 team who finished fourth at the 2007 FIFA World Cup in Korea.

He played a key role for the Ghana Under-23 side who won gold at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

Thank God, at long last he’s with us. Folks I thk we the FABU fans shld throw our strength behind Dr. I see the man raising the team to another level so pls we shld stop defending some players. I don’t thk Dr Sarpong will intentionally put players who are needed in the team on transfer and sign rusty players NO. Long live Dr, long live Fabu. Richard Mpong welcome to the best team in Ghana.

This guy played u17 in 2007 so all of u saying nonsense should get off his back

  12. Olembe. says:

To be frank I hate those who comment on peoples age. Ah, wht is ur biff?. I believe if Andrew Pirlo, Carlos Puyol and co were in Ghana I bet u they would have being dead by now. I mean these are the ppl who retire players prematurely mean while they never played even socks ball b4. From Appiah, Essien,Olele, Muntari J. Mensah, J Paintsil and now Richard Mpomg. If those players were ur brothers will u be here making such childish comment?. Masa, if u don’t have anythg to comment on the story u better keep mute.
