NPP Must Focus On Issues - Bawumia's Wife

Posted On Wednesday, 23rd May 2012

Mrs. Samara Bawumia, wife of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential running mate, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has stressed the need for the party to focus on issues, rather than going what she called ?the National Democratic Congress? way of attacking personalities.?

She reminded the youth that a better Ghana could not be guaranteed under the NDC and asked them to have faith in the NPP to help change the fortunes of the nation.

Speaking at a forum of the youth wing and the Tertiary Education Students? Confederacy (TESCON), in the Ashanti Region in Kumasi last Friday, Samira said, ?Insha Allah, my husband will be the Vice- President after the December elections; this is because Nana Akufo-Addo is going to win the elections as all indications point to?.

The NPP parliamentary candidate for Dome Kwabenya, Ms. Adwoa Safo, who also spoke at the forum, noted that Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP stood for the betterment of the youth that was why at the age of 29, she had the opportunity to stand on the ticket of the party in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency.

?And I tell you I am going to win the parliamentary election,? she said to deafening cheers from the crowd.

Ms. Safo said Nana Akufo-Addo inspired hope for the youth and therefore, urged the youth to rally behind him in the December elections.

The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizers of the NPP, Mr. Gideon Boako, said the party?s support in Ashanti was more solid now than ever before and expressed the hope that the party would win massively in the region.

He revealed that there were about 800 NPP youth groups in the region, all playing their part towards the victory of the party.
