Nottingham Forest make offer to sign Ghana goalkeeper Kwarasey from Stromgodset

English side Nottingham Forest have slapped in a bid to sign Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Championship side made an offer to his Norwegian club Stromgodset on Friday, insiders close to the Drammen-based side told Ghana’s leading football news website.

The offer to sign the Black Stars goalkeeper was made through an English agent but Stromgodset rejected the initial offer.

The Norwegian side declined the Nottingham’s offer saying it was too low even though the figure involved was not revealed.

But talks between the two clubs continued over the weekend with the offer likely to be improved by Tuesday afternoon.

Stromgodset are keen on selling their goalkeeper, who is captain of the side, because he has one year left on his contract which means he could leave for free by next year.

Before leaving for Abu Dhabi, where he is camping with the Black Stars ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, the 25-year-old said that he is not averse to an extension.

Stromgodset sports director Jostein Flo refused to comment on Kwarasey’s link to the English club and with talks still continuing between the two sides, it is probably the reason why the Norwegian club refused to comment.

The chase for Kwarasey started after Nottingham first-choice goalkeeper Lee Camp was recently told to find a new club, and he will be heading to Ipswich.

Nottingham Forest were in the summer bought by the rich Al-Hasawi family from Kuwait, and the old big club are focusing really hard on promotion to the Premier League.

Kwasarey, who had previously been targeted by English sides Bolton and Charlton came to the attention of club in England after his excellent showing for Ghana in their friendly against Brazil played at White Hart Lane.

He pulled some spectacular saves which resulted in the massive interest from English sides to sign him.

Below is the video of the saves he made against Brazil

Ghana will win only 2 games. Oops! maybe those were the friendly matches played. You should all pray that is not the case. Then you will win your first two games. I saw in a vision, Ghana won first 2 games.
Ghana supporters are ungrateful. See how they treat their players when they are injured and cant play. You forget all the sacrifices they gave before. Ungrateful people. You will not win this cup. 4get about it. It is so obvious all the 3 Ayews are qualified but due to ungrateful haters…. Only two matches. Mark my words.,.,.,.

As much as I hate what this fool is writing, he does have a point. We need to stop hating on our players and give them the respect they deserve.

Clearly there is some unresolved issues between the Ayews and GFA. We as fans shouldn’t even get involved. We need to give both parties the space and time needed to iron out their issues…We just talk too much sometimes. That is how Imbecile like Wonderful get ammunition to insult us.

@GH FUO THINK BIG. Mate you need to find out about stuff before commenting. Ffor your information Nottingham Forest play in the Championship and not Div 1 as you put it. EFA have various leagues.. Premier, Championship, Div 1, Div 2, Conference,Ryman etc…. I stand to be corrected and no disrespect to the Norwegien League but if you clearly follow the Championship (where Nottingham Forest plays) you will conclude its a better league than the Norwegien League (in my opinion)
