Norwich City want Majeed Waris on trials
English Premier League side Norwich City are planning to hand Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris a two-week trial before shipping the Hacken hot-shot to the Carrow Road in January.
The Canaries want to improve their strikeforce in the January transfer window and have earmarked the 21-year-old who has netted 20 times in all competition for BK Hacken in Sweden.
Norwich manager Chris Hughton wants to further assess the qualities of the striker who has three Ghana caps at the Colney Training Centre before handing him a deal.
Several stellar European clubs including Hamburg SV and Everton have been following the exploits of the former Right to Dream Academy graduate and Norwich could face stiffer competition to land him.
Hacken reportedly rejected offers from Catania and Saint Etienne before the transfer window closed in the last day of August.
Waris must wait for a team that will sign him outright.
though am not a fan of the swedish league but i guess it will be disrespect to waris to go for a trial.if `they norwich doubt his quality, they can let their scouts follow his exploits here in sweden. After all,the swedish league has been producing some of the best footballers in europe lately and the standard keep on improving each pasing year.Anyway wakaso was once again among the best performers in their match against betis and wonder what a visionless*sorry for my word*Akwasi Appiah is waiting for, before finally inviting him.this guy is 1 in 3 player!can solve the problematic left full back in the stars, play the left wing of midfield*11* and the 6-8 position which he did at some point in their match lastnite.he was winning all the 50/50 balls and was putting the fear of God in the betis players.one of those challenges saw him injurying the goal scorer paulo, who was a pillar in defense for betis.his confidence level is second to none just as his visionary passes.wakaso and 100 times better than somalian Harrison Afful and 300 times better than nuhu and masawudu!is time this nonsense way of players paying before getting a call into our national teams stop.call wakaso now!
You are like a campaign manager, you choose to mention all the good things about last night but refused to mention he was red-carded. But i am happy he is a regular player, he is a starter but really i haven’t seen anything extra-ordinary about him.
it isn’t that Norwich ‘doubt’ his ability. The trial is to see how he fits in with the team. You should always check the fit of expensive new things before you buy them – given the chance!!
isn’t that the purpose of a medical? Did Real Madrid ask Essien and Modric to go on trials before signing them?
Some players don’t go on trails. That is why Ibrahimovic never played in England. He was asked to go on trial at Arsenal and refused saying he does not do that.
@Gaskia,if u dont see anything extra-ordinary about wakaso, then what extra ordinary thing do u see if afful and nuhu?i was thinking that,u will be bold and tell the whole world that afful and nuhu are better than wakaso.hypocrite ppl like u dont have Ghana at heart.i bet u,nuhu and afful will not even merit a role in the espanyol bench.to put an end to the calling of nana akwasi asare, abeyie and wakaso into the stars,Akwasi Appiah has to tell the Ghanaians that the performance of those players are fluke to those playing in the lesser unknown leagues.every good coach prefers players, who are plying their trade in the major leagues than the lesser leagues.which beat my imagination when it comes to players selection in Ghana, its clear Akwasi Appiah prefers inactive and bench bench warmers to active and inform players,no wonder he keep on calling derek boateng, inkoom and opare.God save Ghana!!
No evidence of this yet. No need to start a narrative.
