No way back for Jordan Opoku - Kotoko chairman insists
Berekum Chelsea midfielder Jordan Opoku rumoured to be on his way back to Kotoko

Asante Kotoko chairman Dr. Desmond Sarpong has strongly dismissed talks linking midfielder Jordan Opoku with a return to the club.

The 25-year-old schemed his way out of the Kumasi-based club as a free agent haven spent a little over two seasons with the Porcupine Warriors.

The Kotoko top hieracrhy received a lot of flak then for allowing one of their most brilliant players to leave for free.

Reports have however surfaced linking the Berekum Chelsea player to a return to the Premier League champions.

But chairman Dr. Sarpong insists such a move will only happen ‘over his dead body’ with the acrimonious departure of the former Fetteh Feyenoord star fresh in his mind.

"I took Jordan (Opoku) to Serbia, and back, I knew his contract was going to end in October,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“After September he was telling us his agent will see us and stuff by the time we realized he had signed for (Berekum) Chelsea.

“I heard recently he wants to come back to Kotoko, over my dead body."

Opoku was one of the players that played in Berekum Chelsea’s maiden campaign in the CAF Champions League in 2012.

The Ghana international has had past stints with Excelsior, Royal Antwerp and Dinamo Tirana.
