Asante Kotoko chairman Dr. Desmond Sarpong has strongly dismissed talks linking midfielder Jordan Opoku with a return to the club.
The 25-year-old schemed his way out of the Kumasi-based club as a free agent haven spent a little over two seasons with the Porcupine Warriors.
The Kotoko top hieracrhy received a lot of flak then for allowing one of their most brilliant players to leave for free.
Reports have however surfaced linking the Berekum Chelsea player to a return to the Premier League champions.
But chairman Dr. Sarpong insists such a move will only happen ââ¬Ëover his dead bodyââ¬â¢ with the acrimonious departure of the former Fetteh Feyenoord star fresh in his mind.
"I took Jordan (Opoku) to Serbia, and back, I knew his contract was going to end in October,â⬠he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
ââ¬ÅAfter September he was telling us his agent will see us and stuff by the time we realized he had signed for (Berekum) Chelsea.
ââ¬ÅI heard recently he wants to come back to Kotoko, over my dead body."
Opoku was one of the players that played in Berekum Chelseaââ¬â¢s maiden campaign in the CAF Champions League in 2012.
The Ghana international has had past stints with Excelsior, Royal Antwerp and Dinamo Tirana.
