Ghana first-choice keeper Fatau Dauda failed in his bid to gatecrash the Orlando Pirates first team squad over the weekend as he was left out of their 18-man squad for their home defeat against Supersport United on Saturday.

The 28-year-old was overlooked by Roger De Sá for his 18-man squad for their home tie at the Orlando Stadium which they lost 2-1 to visiting SuperSport.

The former AshGold man has vowed to work his way into the Pirates first team squad and underwent special training exercise with the Ghana national team goalkeepers' training while on holiday in Accra.

Ghanaian fans and officials have expressed concern about Dauda's lack of activity at Pirates and ave urged him to leave Pirates for a club where he can secure more playing time.

He was in post for the Buccaneers in a friendly game during the week but failed to make the first team squad for their league game.
