Chelsea have not received offers about possible loan moves for their midfielder Michael Essien, manager Jose Mourinho has revealed, despite news of an imminent deal for the Ghanaian.

There has been intense speculation about the future of the midfielder Essien who was yesterday linked with AC Milan while UAE club Al Ain were reported to be keen on the Ghanaian.

The Italian press reported in the morning that Essien is a target of AC Milan.

According to the Italian media, the Serie A giants are looking to sign him on loan, and could enter into negotiations within few weeks.

The Portuguese manager confirmed that no official bids have been received for both Essien and Mata who have been linked with moves.

Jose: "We have had no bids for Mata or Essien. There’s nothing on the table – zero bids,” said the Blues boss.

Essien's manager Fabian Piveteau revealed that his client wants to leave Chelsea to more playing time ahead of summer's World Cup in Brazil.

If no offers are received before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month, Essien will have to fight to playing time at Chelsea.
