Ghana midfielder Mohammed Abu failed to make the Lorient first team grades as they drew 1-1 with OG Nice in the French Ligue on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Manchester City midfielder has joined Les Merlus for the remainder of the season with the aim of recapturing his lost form.

However Lorient boss Christian Gourcuff left the former Rayo Vallecano loanee out of his 18-man squad that earned a vital away point at Stade Municipal du Ray.

A debut could be in the line for the Right to Dream Academy product next weekend when Lorient host Evian Thonon Gaillard at the Stade Yves Allainmat - Le Moustoir.
