No Kotoko player insulted Laryea Kingston - Issah Yakubu

Laryea Kingston claims he was insulted by Kotoko players

Kotoko midfielder Issah Yakubu has rubbished claims by Laryea Kingston that they subjected him to massive verbal abuse.

The Hearts of Oak midfielder claimed after their clash with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko last Sunday  that players on the opposing side heaped insults on him in an apparent move to provoke him.

But the former Liberty Professionals player has dismissed the claims saying they are palpably false.

“Nobody insulted him on the pitch. I think he was frustrated at some point because we didn’t give him enough room to operate freely,” Yakubu told Kumasi-based Fox FM

“He even praised my style of play and encouraged me to keep working hard. So I’m surprised he says some of the players insulted him.

“It didn’t happen. We have a lot of respect for him but on the day we gave him little respect on the pitch.

“I never heard anybody insult him. I was there with Akuffo and Helebge.

The Super Clash ended goalless at the Baba Yara stadium.
