Nigeria goalkeeper Enyeama wants CAF to postpone AFCON over Ebola fears
Enyeama has called for the AFCON to be postponed

Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama says CAF must cancel or postpone the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations fearing that the deadly Ebola virus will spread during the hosting of the event.

However the France-based shot-stopper insists he will play for the Super Eagles if they qualify for the tournament originally scheduled to be hosted by Morocco.

The Super Eagles captain is pleading with Africa's governing body to cancel the tournament, just as hosts Morocco has asked for the competition to be cancelled or postponed due to the Ebola Virus spread.

The 32-year old goalkeeper, who played for French side Lille in their 0-0 draw against Everton in the UEFA Europa League, told reporters that there is the urgent need for the tournament to be reconsidered.

"I really wish it doesn't happen with all the people that will be moving around. But I'm not CAF, I'm not the one who calls the shots," Enyeama was quoted by the UK Daily Mail.

The former Enyimba shot-stopper stated that he is fearful of the disease, which has reportedly claimed over 4,000 lives in West Africa alone.

"It's risky for everyone because you go to Africa and then everyone is hugging you and shaking you, and what can you do? You're at risk," he added.

The Super Eagles captain however admitted that he will feature, if Nigeria qualifies and if the tournament still holds.

"But if it happens I will play, if we qualify."

The Super Eagles are third in qualifying group A with four points.
