Nigeria coach names strong squad for Ghana friendly

Nigeria's 2010 World Cup squad
Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has named his strongest squad led by in-form playmaker Osaze Odemwingie to face Ghana in next month’s international friendly in London.
Odemwingie, who plays for English side West Brom, was banned from the team for breaking camping rules in March.
But he has been recalled to face the Black Stars in a game that is expected to be fiery for both sides as matches between the countries are fiercely contested.
There were some recalls but Nigeria’s top players including Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi, AC Milan defender Taye Taiwo, Joseph Yobo, Kalu Uche – Almeria, Obinna Nsofor of Lokomotiv Moscow and Victor Anichebe of Everton.
Also making a return to the Super Eagles squad is Elderson Echiejile who will battle for the left-back position alongside Taiwo.
Siasia also handed a call-up to former Enyimba star Emmanuel Ekpo who now plays for American side Columbus Crew.
Solomon Okoronkwo, who like Ekpo, was in the Nigerian side that won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China was also recalled.
Surprisingly, Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike, who was recently fingered in match fixing scandal in Turkey was named.
Nigeria’s squad is guaranteed to give Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic his sternest test since taking over the Black Stars at the start of the year.
The match will be played on 9 August at Watford’s Vicarage Road Stadium in London.
Ghana thrashed Nigeria 4-1 the last time the two sides met in London four years ago.
