Enugu Rangers have served notice of their preparedness to win the four-team international tournament to be staged in Ghana at the end of the month.

The six-time Nigerian champions will be joining Enyimba to compete against Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko for the $5000 cash prize in the charity tournament set to commence on January 31st in Kumasi.

The tournament is being organized by non-governmental body Crystal Touch Limited who want to use the competition to raise awareness on cancer and kidney diseases.

Rangers who will receive a $20,000 appearance fee however say they will be coming to Ghana with their full team determined to win the trophy.

“Enugu Rangers we are well prepared, I remember two-three years ago we came to Accra to play Hearts of Oak during their centenary and we beat them 2-1 at the Accra national stadium,” the club’s Media Officer Foster Chime told Metro FM.

“If you know the history of clubs in Nigeria, you will know that Rangers is one of the clubs that was established in 1970 that has never gone down to relegation.

“We have Christian Chukwu who was the former national team coach and Christian Chukwu is with us as our consultant and we will be bringing him to that tournament.

“This tells you the quality of technical team and playing body that we are bringing.

“We are coming with our first team not team B or C.

“Our players have been in camp and we will continue to camp before we come to that tournament to win it.”
