Hearts of Oak chief Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe feels vindicated in the club’s off-season transfer dealings following the impressive opening Premier League win at New Edubiase.
New signing Emmanuel Hayford scored a brace on his Premier League debut to get the Phobians off the mark in the new Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win in Berkwai.
The win has given Hearts the needed boost ahead of this weekend’s crunch game against rivals Asante Kotoko.
But it is the performance of the new signings that excites the club’s Managing Director.
Many criticized the low-keyed signings made by the club in comparison to the relative big names signed by Hearts’ direct competitors.
But the Managing Director is reinforced in his believe of doing very good business in the transfer window to hand coach David Duncan quality materials to work with following last Sunday’s win.
“That is why always we say big names do not play football, a player is simply a player,” he told Metro FM.
“Now you see the performance of Emmanuel Hayford. Okoro also came on and you saw him.
“So we tell Hearts supporters to be patient, if you are destined for greatness, nothing can stop you.”
Hearts are currently joint top in the new Premier League season haven been one of just two sides that recorded away wins on the opening day last Sunday.
