New Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan has charged the club’s support base to rekindle their passion for the side as he takes over.

The 51-year-old was officially unveiled as the club’s new head coach after signing a two-year contract.

Apathy within the Kotoko rank and file keeps escalating with the poor run of results of the team especially in the First Capital Plus League where they find themselves currently battling relegation after 10 games.

But the new coach wants the fans to return their massive numbers in the stands to mark the start of a new era.

“I have no excuses working at Kotoko,” David Duncan said.

“If officials, the owner and management members don’t come to the stadium, that’s fine.

“But for you [supporters] not to come to the stadium is inexcusable.”

Duncan will make his debut on the Asante Kotoko bench in the weekend’s Premier League match away to Bechem United on Sunday.
