New Hearts coach Duncan looking for soaring start against Kotoko

New Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan

By Ameenu Shardow

Newly appointed Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan is looking for a flying start against rivals Asante Kotoko.

The former AshantiGold trainer was made the substantive replacement for CK Akunnor on Monday to guide the side for the next three years.

Hearts have won only twice in the six games played so far this season in the top flight and are now just a point above the relegation zone.

But Duncan has expressed his desire to turn things around starting with the tough trip to Kumasi to face champions and arch rivals Asante Kotoko.

“If there us anybody who wants to win, it’s me.  I am the one who wants to win than anybody else,” he said.

“And I believe it will serve as a catalyst for joy for the fans.”

Hearts will be looking to banish their title demons this term by clinching their first Premier League crown in three years.

  2. Maxwell Johnson says:

Kpogas, talk is cheap dude. Lower your expectations, Kotoko go beat H.O.O 4 Wer? Tweaaaaaaaa!!! Aguro ni fuom!!!

  3. nanakash says:

during the early 2000;s when hearts was on form and was beating kotoko left and right, that time form counted but when kotoko now has the form and players to beat hearts that one form does not count. just tell which player in hearts can stop the midfield of Kotoko, who… good Max you have noted that aguro no foum… i hope you will not go in there and play karat… and go and push 9 men inside you goal post for 90 min.

  4. Dr Who says:

HOA will lose this game.Mind you,Fabu is unbeaten and has quality players eg Micheal Akuffo,Nii Adjei,Kwabena Edusei,Yaw Frimpong,Richard Mpong,Micheal Helegbe etc. HOA should rather target a draw game.

  5. Phrank Kente @ Teshie says:

coach duncan kindly humble yourself cos you are going to start counting your losing matches start from the Fabulous Boiz this sunday in Baba Yara sport stadium…..your best will be 2 nil to the men in red…,Fabu thr Best..

  6. Devildog6773 says:

Folks, remember you had all the quality players in Ghana at one point, including Charles Taylor and still fell short on that day when oseikrom came to a stunning halt, the day was January 09,2005? The race is not always for the swift neither the battle for the strong. A determined Hearts of Oak can never be beaten by any club in Ghana, my opinion.

  7. pk says:

devildog has said it all, i no kotoko are over confident but hearts players are gona be more hungry for success…jx cant wait 4 d match.

  8. Terror says:

Another talkative coach, instead of working, he is talking whilst Kotoko coach works on his team, by the time its action time, Duncan will have no clue and would not know what hit him. He would then start those his irritating complaints.

  9. B k says:

You did the same talking when u were in ashgold and u didn’t take the team anywhere. Pls shut up
