New Edubiase United have refused to sell promising midfielder Asiedu Attobrah to Mamelodi Sundowns, MTNFootball.com can confirm.

The Ghana Premier League side were not sure if the future of the teenager could be guaranteed after two of their players- Mumuni Abubakar and Emmanuel Baffour- suffered frustrating spells at the South African side last season.

The duo was sold last June to the Chloorkop-based side but were not given playing opportunities.

Attobrah trained with the Brazilians  while on pre-season tour in Ghana for two weeks and was an unused substitute in their matches against Hearts and Kotoko.

"The coach (Pitso Mosimane) liked the player and it was obvious but the experience of  Mumuni and Baffour made us think otherwise," Edubiase's Vice-chairman Alex Ackumey told MTNFootball.com

"He (Attobrah) is a young player and we don't want to damage his career if his first move does not go well.

"We are looking at other options and we will get him something good for his career development."
