Businessman William Asare has resigned his position as Chief Executive Officer of New Edubiase, the clubââ¬â¢s president has confirmed.
The Tema-based businessman says he is leaving the job on health grounds.
Asare has been a staunch financial supporter of the Ghana Premier League club and therefore his exit will have a heavy toll on the club.
But club President Abdul Salam Yakubu is confident the club will stand on its feet after offering his blessings to the departed chief executive.
ââ¬ÅHe revealed his intention to resign in a management meeting three weeks ago,â⬠he told Asempa FM.
ââ¬ÅI tried convincing him to stay but he gave very good reasons for his decision.
ââ¬ÅHe said it was due to health reasons and therefore I had no choice but to let him go.
ââ¬ÅHe has our blessings and we thank him for all his efforts for the team through from the lower tiers to the top flight.
ââ¬ÅYes, his exit will affect the club in a way but every club in Ghana is struggling financially anyway.
ââ¬ÅSo I am sure we will cope with the situation quite well.ââ¬
