Businessman William Asare has resigned his position as Chief Executive Officer of New Edubiase, the club’s president has confirmed.

The Tema-based businessman says he is leaving the job on health grounds.

Asare has been a staunch financial supporter of the Ghana Premier League club and therefore his exit will have a heavy toll on the club.

But club President Abdul Salam Yakubu is confident the club will stand on its feet after offering his blessings to the departed chief executive.

“He revealed his intention to resign in a management meeting three weeks ago,” he told Asempa FM.

“I tried convincing him to stay but he gave very good reasons for his decision.

“He said it was due to health reasons and therefore I had no choice but to let him go.

“He has our blessings and we thank him for all his efforts for the team through from the lower tiers to the top flight.

“Yes, his exit will affect the club in a way but every club in Ghana is struggling financially anyway.

“So I am sure we will cope with the situation quite well.”
